Case Study: Spakinect’s Integration with DrChrono Saves Times and Improves Compliance for MedSpas

The Challenge: IMAC identified three processes where a Spakinect / DrChrono integration could save them time and improve their compliance:
Scheduling patient appointments
GFE recordkeeping post-appointment
Provider review of treatment approvals / deferrals prior to treatment
The Solution: Lab3 and Spakinect produced a reliable, HIPAA compliant API integration that allows Spakinect to transmit IMAC’s patients’ GFE information to their DrChrono EMR. Highlights of this process include:
Patient GFE expiration is stored in the patient’s Appointment Notes
Patient treatment approvals / deferrals are stored in the Appointment Notes
Patient GFE is accessible directly from the patient record
In addition, any changes to the GFE are automatically pushed to the patient record. New appointment creations automatically trigger the integration to populate any available GFE information from Spakinect.
The Outcome: IMAC accomplished its goal of using automation to free up more time for its front desk staff and providers, while simultaneously improving their compliance posture.
The appointment booking process is faster with the GFE information pre-loaded into the DrChrono patient record. The office staff no longer manually downloads GFE’s for the day’s patients and uploads them into DrChrono (also eliminating the risk of the staff falling behind and out of compliance). And finally, the providers have critical treatment approval / deferral information at their fingertips, creating a more seamless, and safe, process.
With this integration, IMAC is reaping immediate benefits and has charted a clear path for scalable growth in its operations.
